Built for maternal health equity

Every mother deserves to be heard.

We’re reimagining pregnancy support so Black and Asian women can spot concerning changes, speak up with confidence, and feel seen throughout their maternity journey.

Currently in research and early-stage development.

The reality we cannot ignore

Maternity care still does not feel equal.

For too many Black and Asian women, pregnancy is accompanied by a difficult question: will anyone listen when I say something is wrong? Delayed recognition, dismissed concerns, and unequal experiences can make it harder to ask for support at the right time.

Meet the founder

Dr Bola John, founder of BumpSignal

Clinical understanding. Community insight. A mother’s perspective.

Founded by Dr Bola John, a medical doctor, social impact leader, and mother, BumpSignal brings together clinical experience, community leadership, and a personal commitment to improving how women are heard in maternity care.

The concept emerged from an award-winning maternal health equity project developed at a women-in-tech hackathon. We are now shaping our next phase through research, community conversations, and responsible product development.
